Exploration Classes

Camelot Kids implements a curriculum that fosters all areas of child development: cognitive, emotional, linguistic, physical, and social.

Zoo-phonics

Zoo-phonics

The Zoo-phonics Language Arts Program is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts; including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness. Zoo-phonics maximizes understanding, memory, utilization and transference to all areas of the reading, spelling and writing process in a playful and concrete manner.

Yoga

Yoga

Yoga with Ms Laura is held in our studio every Friday and the children adore it! They love poses like “Down Diggity Dog” and enjoy the visualizations and playful nature. We know that on another level they are building a foundation: awareness of their bodies, improved focus, a greater sense of how to remain calm and a natural inclination toward a brighter outlook. Go yoga go!

Word of the Month

Word of the Month

Conflict resolution is something we actively promote here at Camelot on a daily basis. We start by introducing problem solving language to young minds. Each month we highlight a different word and introduce children to its meaning. When they have a better understanding of what positive words mean and how to use them they can formulate different tools to apply to their everyday lives.

Sci-Wiz-A-Lot

Sci-Wiz-A-Lot

Sci-Wiz-A-Lot is a great introduction to the mysteries of biology, chemistry & physics. Camelot Kids learn by observing, classifying, experimenting, predicting, drawing conclusions and communicating their ideas to others. Ms Gaby helps them process questions with multi-sensory experiences that build on their discoveries. This class develops the habits of mind and skills associated with scientific thinking.

Sign Language

Sign Language

Ms Brooke helps children explore a different way of communicating with their hands. When children learn to sign in ASL (American Sign Language), they are learning another language, including how to express themselves using their eyes, face, head and body movements.

Baila Baila -Spanish

Baila Baila -Spanish

Ms Isabel teaches “Baila Baila” every Tuesday, an incredibly fun way of allowing your child to have a great first exposure to Spanish while singing along with the guitar, playing games, making creative activities and dancing to fun Baila Baila songs.

MayaYaYa Dance

MayaYaYa Dance

Children fly with their imaginations to each continent while exploring authentic music, dances, folklore and ritual from different cultures. Dance choreography is taught through games and storytelling, and the dances are simple and easy to follow. Ms Maya takes the kids around the world while teaching Egyptian, Aboriginal, Native American, and Indian dances.

Ms Sara leads this fun-tastic art class, teaching our preschool and kindergarten classes how to explore their creative selves!

“Mighty Me” ™

“Mighty Me” ™

This program is geared toward teaching self-empowerment and the belief that physical activity leads to improved self-esteem. Brian Donovan camouflages exercises with creative storytelling, physical pratfalls, great songs and sayings. The program also teaches environmental awareness, being caring citizens of planet earth and loving one’s self. We are so fortunate to have Brian teach this powerful class once a month at Camelot Kids!

Jam-A-Lot Kids

Let’s Jam!! Taps, claps, drums, sticks, shakers, bells and scarves help children see and feel rhythm while learning to make music! Their bodies become a drum-set and their voices a synthesizer. They play musical games to find their own rhythm and pitch. This class includes playing, dancing and singing all kinds of music from all over the world.

Once a year we invite our local fire department to come and visit to discuss the importance of public safety. The kids absolutely adore getting to see the BIG Red Truck!

Parents' Knight Out

Parents' Knight Out

A night just for parents! We know that you love spending time with your kids and doing family things, but sometimes, let’s face it - you need a break. Our Parent's Night Out is a monthly event filled with games, music and pizza! Children are encouraged to wear pajamas because after playtime, it’s movie time. The hours for this event are from 5-10pm. The rates are: $40 per child w/ an additional $10.00 per sibling.

Recycling

Recycling

Keep the Planet Clean! This is the motivation behind our recycling program at Camelot Kids. We encourage parents to drop off glass, plastic and aluminum containers at school which teaches children about taking care of the earth and their surroundings. The money from our recycling program is donated to our local homeless through various organizations. Recycle bins are on campus for all of our dragons to get acquainted and comfortable with recycling throughout their lives!

Cleaning Service

Cleaning Service

A clean castle is a happy castle! Once a month Cintas Cleaning Service gets us all sparkly and fresh with a high-pressure washer, treatments with Sanis Ultraclean, a fresh-water rinse and water vacuum that takes away all bacteria and dirt. Additionally, we have Suzanna, our full time cleaner & Marve our cleaning lady, come twice a week for topical cleaning.

Nappers

Nappers

Each child that naps has their own labeled sheet along with their own labeled napping cubby to store nap gear. Nap mats are wiped clean as often as necessary and sanitized every Friday with a "green" friendly solution. We kindly ask you to remember to take home your child’s bedding at the end of each week to clean.
